Happy twenty-four and two/thirds birthday to me!

31.00. That is the total, including tax that my groceries came to today. Two cans of evaporated milk, ground ginger and cloves, bread, organic bananas, fuji apples, roasted unsalted almonds, and two boxes of Life cereal.

The Man Is U.N.C.L.E

Again and again. My step-sister Amy had her twins, Colton Mare and Abby Vale, on Tuesday evening around 9pm. This makes nephew and niece four and five for me. Actually it is Colton Knight

Mare means "sea" in Italian... was that their inspiration?

Oh no... unless it's like "colt and mare": yikes!

You're a clever one. You caught me; I don't know what Colton's middle name is so I went with the Colt and Mare. Sea and Valley would be a nice combo for their names though.

Milk, We Owe It All to Udders

I had a fine trip, stopping in Le Mars on the way up and back. Surprisingly enough, it only added about 15 miles to my trip. I had a wonderfull turkey day with a second cousin on my maternal grandmother's side. My Uncle Dennis and his family were also there, so I got to visit with them. The food was wonderful; highlighted by a pumpkin cheesecake. My rhubarb crunch went over well, with all takers enjoying.

Saturday morning my family went to a little cafe for breakfast. And crazy enough that was the first time that we all actually got to eat together with my sister or mom working and my step-father Denny hunting all the other mealtimes.

Fun fact of the day: Harry C. Wells, brother and partner of Fred H. Wells, founder of Wells Blue Bunny, lived and worked in Doland, SD, hometown of Hubert H. Humphrey, me, and Dennis and Duane Koslowski, before moving to Le Mars to work with his brother.

"Steal my daddy's cue and make a living outta playin pool"

The comic genius of Ben Stiller and musicalness of Jack Johnsonest together in one video, plus a girl named Taylor (very hot).

Jarhead is a good film if you like the slice of life stuff. The plot wasn't very demanding, but that probably would have gotten in the way of the characters or something. Sam Mendes, director of American Beauty and Road to Perdition, two films I really enjoyed, did fine with what he was wanting to accomplish, but I don't think he was trying to accomplish enough. I guess the film was based on a book by the lead character. so there is that.

Blessings upon you,

Rodney Stuart

Ugh... Road to Perdition was too dark for me, although I did enjoy American Beauty. I won't be seeing Jarhead without some strong recommendations, as war movies aren't really my scene anyway.

I have been meaning to read the book for sometime. When I saw it was going to be a movie I thought that might be a short cut. But I guess if it wasnt' good, I'll just keep thinking I'm going to read the book.

Wrestle the Line

I went to the Huskers first wrestling dual of the season against the Boise State Broncos. The Huskers won, but they were supposed to. I was particularly impressed with two redshirt freshmen Chris Oliver, a four-time Nebraska High School champion, and Paul Donohoe from Michigan and easy on the eyes (I've included a link for the ladies and non-traditional males). Surprisingly enough at the match, I was reunited with an old classmate from Doland, SD, Nathan Troske. This summer at the Back to Doland Days was the first I had seen him in ten years and now twice in five months. He is now living in Gretna and working for Interstate Electric.

After the match, I went to Noodles & Company and had a mean (well-made, not malicious) dish of Wisconsin Mac and Cheese with steak and three potboilers(My mother caught that these aren't potboilers but potstickers, silly me. Are there foods that serve as potboiler though? Maybe turkey, cran sauce, potatoes, and pumpkin pie for ThxDay). Then as I was walking by The Grand I noticed that Walk the Line was going to start in less than ten minutes. "What timing." I thought to myself, "I guess Ivanna Cone will have to wait another day." So the film was good. I don't think it was as good as a comparable biopic film in Ray. Reese Witherspoon deserves any nominations and awards that she gets for her fine work. Joaquin Phoenix has a really hard name to spell. He also worked really hard for this role and his work paid off, but he didn't become Johnny Cash like Jaime Foxx became Ray Charles. His singing was fine, just not the Man in Black. His mannerisms evocative. BUT that hare-lip, something must be done.

Kind Regards,

The Evil Prince in the Wild Jungle

Koo All Es Too Nam Bre?

Fyne Ogonor, Dilermando Lemos, Ulna Keet--Ooltewah,TN, J. Tjokroredjo, Wancy Magny, Ewan Wonoprabowo, Fumi Jean Sinohui, Aeon McLean, Yoletd Aristhomene, Jan Maruanaja, Basil Been, Norcilia Norcius

I'm growing increasingly frustrated with our new website "upgrade." It needs upbraiding. Our previous version that worked allowed me, when I exported orders to save the data file and import it into our other system so that I could run orders. Now the new "improved" version doesn't allow me to do this. Now when I export, I have to send an email to our webmaster from California and he has to take the file off the server, which is in Atlanta, and email it to me. Only then can I import the file and run orders. There has been an average lag time of about forty minutes for this process as opposed to zero minutes previously.

Another "improvement" is that we can now no longer mark product back in stock which means we can't place orders for it. The only way we can mark it out of stock is by updating an order, so no preemptive marking out of stock. This is frustrating.

But the Dude abides.

Welcome to My World

Won't you come on in. (Jim Reeves)

Stuff from TV tonight: The Simpsons-- Bart and Marge frequent a Tea House called The Leaf Garret, After Bart breaks off their friendship, Marge is riding on a bus to Miami with her tandem bike (this is familiar to those who have seen Midnight Cowboy), Homer's first opponent in an arm wrestling tournament has only lost once, to a battle with illiteracy, Homer replies that he has lost that battle many times. For those who haven't seen The Simpsons in a while, they've still got it. Inside the Actors Studio-- In the ol' Bernard Pivot questionnaire, Russell Crowe said one thing that turns him on is a well-constructed sentence.

What would you like God to say to you, if there is a heaven, and you get there?

Stand-Up, Stand-Up, for Jesus?

I recently saw some stand-up comics on Comedy Central. One comedian that I've seen before and enjoyed and reminds me of Ceri is Maria Bamford. A classic joke from her is "My mother thinks that I'm afraid of success. And I think she's right because fulfilling my potential would really cut into my sittin' around time." The second one I wanted to share with you happen'd to be another girl Natasha Leggero. The link is to a lead in to my favorite joke from her. Her friend thinks she is fat because karma is getting her for making fun of fat kids in high school. "But we didn't turn Jewish."

Wait Just One Millenia.

I know why Adventists are late. They don't want to commit to anything, just in case Christ comes. Why bother starting a program, or anything for that matter, on time when it could be so rudely interrupted by the Apocalypse? So they wait a bit to make sure Christ won't be coming in the next half hour and then go ahead as planned.

It is with narrow-souled people as with narrow-necked bottles: the less they have in them, the more noise they make in pouring it out.

There is a Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania.

The Evil Prince of the Wild Jungle is Delicious

And if you went to Khun Dueng, a Thai restaurant in Mishawaka, IN, you would agree. For dessert, in my quest to try every rice pudding ever made, I had their sweet black rice pudding. It tastes like the taro cakes that the Chat sold a while ago, good.

Now that I've discouraged all the johnny-come-latelys with my incessant food details, I can share about the rest of my trip to Nebraskowa, Illiana, and Michiana.

It started on Wednesday after work when I went to Tim and Amy Tanner's home outside Silver City, IA. I got to spend some wonderful time with Fred and Bubba, their two kittens, and then a fine time with the rest of the Tanner Family. The first part of Thursday was spend driving up and down southern Iowa's hills on Highway 34. I had lunch at Big Muddy's in Burlington, IA and got to overhear two very passionate railroad buffs (while each was far from buff) discuss the one of them wanting to write an article about the origins of Burlington Northern Rock Island etc. Illinois is flat and Indiana is curvy with nice topography. From 6ish to midnightish Michael Covarrubias and I had a fine time talking together. Me learning about the optimal theory of phonology, and he getting to tell me about it.

Friday was a beautiful drive on Indiana hwy 25 with the fall colours pouring over my audition for a car commercial. Then some time at the College Football HoF. The afternoon with Wendi and Janelle; the evening with Katie at BSAS (Black seminarians association s.) and Mosaics. Saturday: Encounter, Grad student ss., PMC with Patrick Murphy, Michael's fellow classmate at Battle Creek Academy, speaking, hospital singing, nap and then Khun Dueng.

Today began with a loverly brunch at The Blue Plate, where John Cusack once ate. Then some misdirection on Chicago's tollways and a smooth 9 hr journey home.

I took tollway 294, and I was in the far left lane which, due to construction got completely separated from the other two lanes and when the toll split twixt Wisconsin and Iowa, I was jobbed. Nothing my fine cartography skilz couldn't handle though.

I could go with Re-Rediscovered County, how about that >:l

MUMBLER!

Calling all persons, come to 643 S 11th St. #1 to see the new DVD Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Deluxe Edition. I've only seen the film in the theatre three times. There will be food, deleted scenes, dvd games, four tracks of commentary, a making of/behind the scenes, how to become an Oompa Loompa, Johnny Depp interviews, and Tim Burton interviews; however, you must bring your own laughter, joy and mirth (actually we have a little mirth leftover from our last get together, but it'll cost you extra).

You know the place, now the time: about 7ish, Tuesday the Eighth of November. This will give me enough time to get the dvd from BestBuy and you enough time to eat supper before the dessert type stuffs.

I'll flesh out the "all persons." If you have seen the movie, come; if you haven't seen the movie, come; if you don't want to watch the movie, come. Bring a friend. Respond S'il Vous Plait.

Tonight, in My Name Is Earl, the mother of Violet Beauregard, Missy Pyle, is a mother in a mother-daughter pageant to win a ceramic figurine of a princess on a lawn mower. Their talent is knife throwing.
